Headlights glared in her rearview mirror as Abbey navigated the dark, desolate mountain road. Then the driver in the car behind her bumped her van-camper, threatening to push her over the edge of the road and down the mountainside. As the bumps continued, Abbey gripped the wheel and managed to keep control of the van. Around another bend, lights twinkling in the distance promised a safe haven.
Abbey believed she had escaped from the assailant until the next morning when she visits the campground office and discovers a stranger had asked about her by name and had described her and her RV. Her dream vacation had become a nightmare. Abbey continues driving northward to Montana, as she must, but tailors her itinerary to a more direct route. She hides at night as best she can, hoping to elude her pursuer. Near Arches National Park, Abbey meets Samantha (Sam), and the two girls team up to travel together for protection and to share the camaraderie of sightseeing together. But safety is only an illusion.

The Inconvenient Sister edition by Mary Lee Tiernan Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This book held me in its thrall. Stayed up until 400am. With plenty of excitement, complex relationships, mystery, love and the formation of an everlasting bond. I was sorry when the book ended. Would love to see the exploration of what happens next. Can't wait to read Mary Tiernan's next book
An unusual double story, whose many threads eventually converge in an action-packed finish.
The story is very complex but not all that unlikely. Solid research and a strong grasp on reality ensure that the narrative is both plausible and believable. Even when reading fiction, my mind needs to be satisfied by a coherent set of events and this book passes the test beautifully. The story moves along at a steady pace, with plenty of events and incidents, some red herrings and a large cast of supporting characters who are just as well depicted as the protagonists.
The book is divided into three parts. We meet our first narrator, Abbey, a life-hardened orphan. The second part is narrated by Sam, an attractive and intelligent young woman, recently married to her high school sweetheart. Part 3 consists of chapters where Abbey and Sam alternate in advancing their own story.
The two girls, although of similar ages, are very different in temperament but equally likeable, and have individual voices that are easy to distinguish. I enjoyed the challenge and complexity of the alternating chapters and found the dramatic ending both satisfying and unexpected.
The narration is tight and compelling, with many dialogue-driven scenes and some breathtaking descriptions of the spectacular attractions Abbey gets to visit, so that the travelogue aspect adds a new dimension to an essentially action-based mystery. Style, language and a lack of explicit or offensive content make this book suitable for the widest audience.
The Inconvenient Sister was a very good book
It was very intense for Abbey to have to go through everything she did, and continue to be a strong independent woman. I was Great that her and Sam met and became friends.
Good Book!

Believable cast of characters, running around in country that we akanow.
This is the first time that I have read a book by this author, and I'll definitely buy more of her work.
I really enjoy watching Mary Lee grow with each book!! I like the direction that she is now going by branching out with new ideas and characters from what she has now begun using. I think that Mary Lee's Ms. Muse is sending her into great new directions. Sharon
